Corporal Mayo Receives Governor’s Award

Corporal Brandon Mayo of the Fulton Police Department  was recently honored for his exemplary efforts in impaired-driving enforcement. The Honor along with other officers across the State of Kentucky were presented at the Governor’s Impaired Driving Enforcement Awards at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Lexington Kentucky. Impaired driving is one of the deadliest crimes in this nation and it impacts thousands of innocent lives every day. The Kentucky Office of Highway Safety’s release stated that last year, there were more than 5,900 crashes involving alcohol and /or drugs in Kentucky alone, which resulted in more than 3,100 injures and 162 fatalities. Additionally various agencies across the Commonwealth will be partnering with the Drive Sober or Get Pulled over Holiday enforcement campaign set for Dec 15 through Jan 1. The National Traffic Safety Administration funds the campaign, and stated that high-visibility of patrol reduces impaired driving fatalities by approximately 20 percent.

“I am very proud of Corporal Brandon Mayo for his exemplary duties in protecting and serving the City of Fulton as a safer place to live and drive”. Chief Terry Powell
